Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Occupational Therapist role offers the opportunity to support students across multiple schools within a K-12 educational setting. Based in Pelham, AL, this itinerant position involves working with children and young adults aged 3 to 21 years, providing specialized therapy services designed to enhance their educational experience and functional abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to a caseload of 40-60 students across 4-5 schools.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each students needs.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state regulations and district policies.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning efforts.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold an active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Alabama.
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt treatment approaches accordingly.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school personnel.
- Flexibility to travel between multiple schools within the district.
Location: Pelham, Alabama (serving Birmingham City Schools)
